To kick off the start to a new year, I am so excited to share my 2022 House Project Goals with you all. You may have read my last blog where I listed all my completed projects. I love to write down my goals and see just how many of them I can achieve. I learned several great tips for setting goals while playing DI volleyball. I continue to apply these learnings in all aspects on my life including planning my house projects!
Steps To Achieve Your Goals
1) Write down your goals – Be specific!
2) Break down those goals into smaller, more achievable goals.
3) Set timelines for each of the smaller goals to help hold your self accountable.
4) Take each day one step at a time and soon you will look back and see just how far you have come!
2022 House Project Goals
Renovate Master Bathroom
This project started back in 2020 as a simple closet redesign. It was almost completed in 2021, but the heated floors failed, so the entire flooring had to be redone. We are so close to being able to use this space again!
We will also be adding a barn door across the doorway. I will post the tutorial for how to hang a barn door soon as well as share with you how we sourced the perfect door!
Renovate Master Closet
This room is on the left hand side of the bathroom space when you enter facing the cabinetry. This space used to have a wall separating the two closets that had different access points. We cannot wait to get our cabinetry next week from Inspired Closets to begin using this space in our house again! Are you as excited as we are?
New Bathroom Windows
Due to supply chain challenges, windows are both scarce and expensive right now. While renovating our bathroom, we had some mishaps with tile and as a result, received that money back as store credit. We will be using this money to upgrade at least the three small bathroom windows in our home. Since these windows are original, they do not seal properly and therefore, this will save us money in on our electricity bill once fixed!
Master Bedroom Design
The master bedroom has been the most neglected space, decorated with only a bed and a cheap end table that someone threw on the side of the road. I finally got matching nightstands and lamps, but this room needs to feel like a retreat. Stay tuned as we give this room a makeover it deserves.
Foyer Design
This was one of the first spaces I created! The painted/stenciled floor blog will be coming later this week so I will link it back here for you. I love this space, but the walls are pretty bare. I am thinking some sort of wall treatment and maybe a new front door color? I have already started to patch the walls and begin preparation. What would you do?
Door Color: SW Slate Tile
Hall Bathroom Closet
Does this space looked live in? LOL. I have yet to start designing this space. I love beautiful spaces, but they always need to function well. What I do know is that this space could use some love, even if it is just some paint (maybe wallpaper?) and cute storage for when we have guests. If you’ve made it this far, yes, I said guests and not kids. Those won’t be for a few more years (yes, we actually mean this) so for now, we will make this our cat’s perfect little space.
But wait, there’s always more!
Like any house enthusiast, my dreams outweigh the time we have in a year to complete everything on the 2022 House Projects list. That doesn’t mean a girl can’t still dream! I like to keep a backlog of ALL the changes I would like to make to this house. This includes the following:
- New gutter, facia, soffit
- Remove old intercom on porch
- New interior doors
- Hardwood floors
- New Bathroom windows
- Replace Picture Window
- Landscape: grind stumps
- Landscape: Fix water hole in driveway
- Landscape: Till front monkey grass + re-sod
- New shelves in all storage areas/pantry
- New countertop in hallway bathroom
- New countertop and backsplash kitchen
- Porch Bluetooth radio speakers
Which project are you looking forward to seeing the most?
I can only DREAM of being this organized!!! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you!! Excited to have you here for the journey.
[…] Since purchasing my home, I created a list of home projects I want to accomplish. Realistically we won’t tackle a few items on the list until Year 5 or beyond. However, writing down your goals is the first step in manifesting their reality. Next, I’ll share a list of my completed projects and let you in on what’s to come for 2022! […]
This is going to be awesome!!! Can’t wait to follow along!
